Importance to the Civil War & Why it was fought

Importance!- 
The Battle of Shiloh is thought to be the turning point of the war. The confederates and union lost so many soldiers, they figured out this war would not end soon.


Why was it fought?-
The confederates thought that they could get ahead in the war, by surprise attacking the Union.

  1. The Battle of Shiloh was the turning point in many people's attitude in the war. People realized that this was going to be a very bloody and long engagement. There were 20+ more Shilohs to fight.
